Fla-Vor-Ice Summer Flashback Giveaway

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Jel Sert for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

It is hot and humid here in Virginia Beach!  So, to help keep us cool, we've been snacking on Fla-Vor-Ice.

Do you remember Fla-Vor-Ice?  Just seeing Fla-Vor-Ice Freezer Pops reminds me of summer.  Growing up my mom always kept our freezer stocked with them.  And now that Connor is always playing outside with his friends, I make sure I have plenty in the freezer just like my mom did.

What I love about them:
  • A quick and easy snack that is made with real juice and have only 20 calories per serving
  • They come in a wide variety of flavors - Original Fruit Flavors, Tropical Flavors and a Sugar-Free version
  • Cost is less than $0.10 per serving.  That means they taste great and they are affordable!

The best part - Connor and his friends love them!  They come running in the house requesting their favorite flavor and then they run right back outside.
I asked Connor what his favorite thing about Fla-Vor-Ice Freezer Pops was and he said that he gets to eat them with his friends.  Isn't he so sweet?!

The Smurfs 2 Video Game Review

Connor was super excited to play The Smurfs 2 video game when it arrived over the weekend.  He actually thought daddy sent him a present in the mail and I didn't really have the heart to tell him the truth.  So now he thinks he definitely has the coolest dad in the world!!
He immediately opened the package and asked me to start the game for him.

What Connor loves about the game:
  • It was easy to play.  He was able to learn the different moves quickly and was so proud of himself as he advanced to the next level.
  • Multi player so his friends can play with him.
  • Fun and exciting!
  • Loves that he can pick different smurfs for each level.
What I love about the game:
  • It's rated E for Everyone so the entire family and neighborhood can play together:)
  • Entertaining with a storyline and quickly grabs your attention.
  •  Perfect for all ages.
  • Connor didn't get frustrated while playing.  The game is challenging but I didn't feel that is was too difficult for him.

I have to admit that I love this game!  We sat and played for about an hour and had a blast together.  And now I can't wait to take Connor to see Smurfs 2 when it comes out in theaters.

The first thing he wants to do when he wakes up is play Smurfs 2.

Last night Connor had a sleepover with a few of his friends and they all sat around and played the game together.  It was so fun to watch them all playing and laughing together.

I even made blue Candied Popcorn as a little treat while they all played Smurfs 2.  You can't play Smurfs 2 without eating something blue.

Easy Candied Popcorn Recipe:
  • 1 bag of microwave popcorn
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Food coloring - optional
  • Salt to taste
Pop popcorn in microwave.  Place in a bowl with lid.

Place butter, sugar, and water in small pan and heat over medium heat.  Add about 6-8 drops of food coloring if you want to.  Once mixture starts to boil, set timer for 4 minutes and stir as it thickens.  After 4 minutes, remove from heat and pour over popcorn.  Put lid on the bowl and shake until all popcorn is covered.  Add a little salt if you want and let popcorn cool.  Then eat and enjoy!

So grab some blue candied popcorn and try out the new Smurfs 2 video game.  You can order your copy on Amazon or pick one up at your local Gamestop

Getting Organized with Rubbermaid All Access

Operation Closet Makeover is complete!

Connor and a few of his friends were playing hide-and-seek the other day and this happened:

The center shelves fell over which caused the rods and all my clothes to fall to the ground!!  After I helped my son's friend climb out of the rubble, I couldn't help but laugh.  I've been wanting to reorganize my closet for months so this was a good way to get motivated

I emptied the entire closet and headed to Home Depot to reorganize this disaster.

After a fresh coat of paint, some new shelves, and these amazing Rubbermaid All Access Organizers, I have an organized and functional closet.

These Rubbermaid All Access Organizers are FABULOUS and have so many great features.

Not only do they stack and open from the top like other plastic bins but they are even better!!

Each organizer has a clear, drop-down door which allows you to easily see and grab what you need in each organizer, even while they are stacked.  How great is that?

I am amazed at how much these organizers can hold and the possibilities are endless.  They are perfect for closets, playrooms, garages and any area in your home that needs to be organized.  I will slowly be replacing all the tote bins in my garage with All Access Organizers.  My Halloween and Christmas decorations desperately need to be organized next.

I just love my nicely organized closet!!  It's amazing how much bigger the closet feels.  Doesn't getting organized just make you so happy?

You can find the Rubbermaid All Access Organizers at your local Home Depot.  Also, follow Rubbermaid and Home Depot on Facebook for great organizing and home improvement tips.

Although this is a sponsored post, I actually do use this product and love it. All the opinions expressed are my own!

Earrings with Martha Stewart Jewelry

This post is sponsored by Plaid, Martha Stewart and The Blueprint Social.

Have you seen the new line of Martha Stewart Jewelry products available exclusively at Michael’s?

It is fabulous!!  The new line includes beads, charms, tools, rhinestones, settings, chains, and so much more.

I’m sure you all know by now that I love making jewelry so I was thrilled to have the opportunity to play around with a few of the new products.

I decided to use the beads and chain to make a few pairs of earrings.  Can you ever have too many earrings?
For my first pair, I decided to pair the pink beads with the turquoise beads to make a cute pair of cluster earrings.
Pink and Turquoise Cluster Earrings

Supplies needed:
Step 1: Thread each of the beads you want to use on a headpin. Use pliers to trim excess wire (leave about a quarter inch above the bead) and create a loop above each bead.

Step 2: Add 5 links of chain to the earring hook.

Step 3: Add beads to each link of chain.

For the second pair, I decided to use the purple beads.

Purple Beaded Drop Earrings

Supplies needed:
Step 1: Take one headpin and one bead. Thread bead on headpin and create loop at the end. Add to the earring hook.

Step 2: Separate the chain links so you have one that is 6 links long and 9 links long. Add to the end of the bead.

Step 3: Thread headpins through the other two beads. Create loops above each bead. Add to the end of each chain.

The third pair are super fun and a little glamorous!

Green Crystal Channel Earrings
Supplies needed:
Step 1: Separate crystals into sections of one, two and three lengths.  Add jump rings to ends that need them.

Step 2:  Thread headpins through each small bead and create loop at end.  You will need 10 all together.  Add one to the end of each section of crystals.

Step 3:  Add jump ring to earring wire.

Step 3: Attach crystals to jump ring and close.

How fun and simple is that?

Just pop in a good movie or catch up on some of your DVR'd shows and have fun creating new earrings just in time for summer.

I really love all the products in the new Martha Stewart Jewelry line.  I could probably sit home all day and make new jewelry!
